Payment Systems Regulator

A subsidiary of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) is the economic regulator for the UK payment systems industry as of April 2015. PSR exists to protect competitive markets by ensuring that payment systems are accessible, reliable and secure.

Key Facts
The PSR holds the authority to impose requirements concerning system rules; act alongside the Competition and Markets Authority in the case of anti-competitive behavior; and amend any agreements in relation to payment systems.
