Definition
The CFTC Interim Compliant Identifier or CICI is designed to be an identifier for all legal entities dealing in Over-the- Counter derivatives falling under CFTC jurisdiction until an international program for a Legal Entity Identifier is launched, which is expected by March 2013.

Additional Information
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and SWIFT have been named by the CFTC to provide the CICI for legal entities involved in OTC derivatives trading. The CICIs will be used by the CFTC and other financial regulators to fulfill the systemic risk monitoring and mitigation, market transparency, and market abuse prevention purposes of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. http://www.dtcc.com/news/press/releases/2012/dtcc_swift_compliant_identifier.php
