Alacra at

In December, Alacra exhibited our newest applications and content at Online Information 2006 in the UK. The conference was well attended this year; according to show sponsor Information World Review, attendance reached the levels achieved in 2000. We met with many customers in our three core markets - Investment Banking, Accounting and Consulting. Alacra's UK team did an excellent job setting up, running the event and serving drinks. Read more about this year's show at Steve Goldstein's Alacra Blog.

In addition, Alacra continued to grow and further develop its staff throughout the fourth quarter.

  • Barry Graubart joined Alacra in December as Vice President of Product Management. Barry brings to his team, and to Alacra, a great deal of insight, skill and a fresh perspective. Barry will be responsible for Alacra’s product management efforts and will report to Alacra's CEO, Steve Goldstein. Prior to joining Alacra, Barry most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Leadership Directories, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, product strategy and business development. Barry has more than twenty years experience in applying technology to content. Email Barry at barry.graubart@alacra.com or read his popular industry blog at www.contentmatters.info.
  • Geoffrey Opland also joined Alacra this December as our newest software developer. Geoff is new to New York, having recently arrived here from the Motor City. Prior to heading east, Geoff was working for Ford Motor Company in Detroit. Email Geoff at geoffrey.opland@alacra.com.
  • Albert Tamayev has been promoted to the role of Vice President of Operations here at Alacra, replacing Constantine Gavalas. Albert has been with Alacra since 1999, starting as a software developer and most recently as a development manager. Email Albert at albert.tamayev@alacra.com.
  • Karl Kaebnick has been promoted to the role of Development Manager taking over the position vacated by Albert. For the last few years, Karl has succeeded in taking the Alacra GDA (Generic Database Application) from its infancy to a subsystem responsible for managing more than 50 of the premium databases available on Alacra. Not only has this unified framework reduced the time it takes to add new databases, it has also made it possible to quickly add new features to our content applications.
