The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) is a voluntary umbrella organization of Canada's provincial and territorial securities regulators whose objective is to improve, coordinate and harmonize regulation of the Canadian capital markets.

Key Facts
The 10 provinces and 3 territories in Canada are responsible for securities regulations. Securities regulators from each province and territory have teamed up to form the Canadian Securities Administrators, or CSA for short. The CSA is primarily responsible for developing a harmonized approach to securities regulation across the country. The securities regulator relies on the work of two national self-regulatory organizations, the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIORC) and the Mutual Fund Dealers Association (MFDA) for most aspects of regulation of the organizations' member firms and their employees.
